Solar Thermal

Heat water for free from the sun!

Huge advances in modern solar water heating systems mean that a solar thermal product is a realistic, eco-friendly and affordable choice for many homes.

Using solar panels, called collectors, which are fitted to your roof, heat is collected from the sun and used to warm up water that is stored in a hot water cylinder.

There are two types of solar water heating panels that EcoHomeInstaller recommend, including evacuated tubes and flat plate collectors. We can help you to choose the right system for your home.

The space required for the Solar Thermal panels is typically two to five square metres and facing as close to south as possible. You will also need a hot water cylinder.

It is advisable to have a boiler or immersion heater for back-up when the solar water heating system does not reach the required temperature.
